PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a twisted wire capable of suppressing deformation or breaking and securing sufficient safety, and a guide wire using the same.SOLUTION: A twisted wire 80 is made by twisting a core wire 81 and side wires wound to cover the outer periphery of the core wire 81. The side wires include at least a pair of first side wires 83 arranged in point-symmetry with the core wire 81 as a center and at least one second side wire 84 other than the first side wires 83.
