The cheese mold has a mold main structure that is provided with a base (5) and a jacket (4). The base is provided with a rib structure in transition region of the outer jacket wall. The mold main structure is round or cylindrical or angular in cross section. The longitudinal ribs (7) are extended radially, starting from the longitudinal axis (9) over the base and continuing as jacket ribs (10) into the region of the jacket wall, if cross section of mold main structure is round. The mould main structure is made of plastic or metal e.g. stainless steel.
