PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant cultivation apparatus that has few limitations as to the place of installation.SOLUTION: The plant cultivation apparatus 1 includes a cultivation liquid container 3 for retaining a cultivation liquid, openings 30, 33 for allowing the cultivation liquid to flow into the cultivation liquid container 3, and an opening 24 for allowing the cultivation liquid retained in the cultivation liquid container 3 to flow out of the cultivation liquid container 3. The amount of the cultivation liquid that is allowed to flow into the cultivation liquid container 3 through the openings 30, 33 and the amount of the liquid allowed to flow out of the opening 24 are set to be equal when a predetermined amount of cultivation liquid is retained in the cultivation liquid container 3. The plant cultivation apparatus 1 also includes a cultivation liquid tank 5 for retaining the cultivation liquid, a liquid pump 6 for sending the cultivation liquid out from the cultivation liquid tank 5 to the cultivation liquid container 3, and a rack on which the cultivation liquid container 3, the cultivation liquid tank 5 and the liquid pump 6 are mounted. The openings 30, 33 allow the cultivation liquid to flow into a portion of the cultivation liquid container 3. The opening 24 allows the cultivation liquid to flow out of a portion of the cultivation liquid container 3.
