PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a box-type trap device having a configuration capable of supporting an installation form in which a part of a trap body is buried in a ground when the device is set so as to enable reducing an exposure of the trap as much as possible, in which a bait is easily visible by an animal from outside of the trap even when the bait is set at a deep inside of the trap body, thereby increasing a trapping rate.SOLUTION: A box-type trap device includes: a trap body 1 having a pair of door panels 15, 16 of butterfly-type which can be freely opened and closed a bait container 25 which detects an entry of an animal into the trap body 1 a trigger device 2 which operates the pair of door panels 15, 16 towards a closing direction in response to a detection of the bait container 25 and a door-opening prevention member 3 which prevents the pair of door panels 15, 16 from opening after the door panels 15, 16 are closed, in which the door panels provided on the trap body 1 are attached to edges of an entry opening 19 formed on top-side of the trap body 1 through which the animal enters, the door panels being provided in such a manner that the entry opening 19 can be opened and closed.
