An α+β type titanium alloy member containing, by mass, 4.5% to less than 6.5% of Al and 0.5% to less than 3.1% of Fe, and containing less than 4.0% of Cr and/or less than 8.0% of V so that the Mo equivalent is 3.0% to less than 8.0%, the amount of Si being kept under 0.1% and the amount of C being kept under 0.01% as impurities, and the Mo equivalent of the β-phase alloy component of the microstructure being 10.5% to less than 14.0%. The titanium alloy member can be manufactured by performing heating to a temperature in the range of β transformation point–(100°C to 150°C) and then performing cooling at a cooling rate of water cooling or above. Mo equivalent = [%Mo]+2.9 × [%Fe] + 0.67 × [%V] + 1.1 × [%Ni] + 1.6 × [%Cr] + 1.6 × [%Mn] + 0.28 × [%Nb]-[%Al]
