An applicator for dispensing surgical fasteners, comprising: a body； an elongated shaft extending from said body, wherein said elongated shaft has a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis extending between the proximal and distal ends； a launch rod located within said elongated barrel with the possibility of movement in the first plane between the retracted position and the extended position； a feeding element located inside the specified elongated barrel with the possibility of movement in the second plane between the retracted position and the extended position； a leveling device located at the distal end of the specified elongated barrel aligning the surgical fasteners with the distal end of said trigger rod, wherein said alignment device is held by the feed member below said second plane when said feed member is in the extended position, and said leveling device is movable to a position in which it is at least partially aligned with the distal end of said launch rod when said feeding element is in a retracted position.
