The invention relates to a belt closure (20) for detachably connecting two belt ends (10a, 10b), which belt closure has a housing (30) and a plug (40) that can be clipped into the housing (30). The belt closure (20) is a safety closure that opens if a predetermined tensile load acts on the belt ends (10a, 10b). A separate finger flap (44) is articulated at a front end (42) of the plug (40) for clipping into the housing. The finger flap is preloaded outwards in a direction away from the plug (40) by a separate spring (50). By means of a stop surface (47) opposite the articulation point, the finger flap (44) can be brought in contact with a stop surface (67) of the housing (30). Both stop surfaces (47, 67) are tilted forward by an angle (a) > 0°, in particular an angle (a) of 20°. In addition, the two stop surfaces (47, 67) are convexly or concavely curved, wherein the stop surface (47) of the finger flap (44) has a smaller radius of curvature than the stop surface (67) of the finger opening (60).
