PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an HB-EGF production promoter, a turn-over promoter for epidermis, a melanin evacuant or a skin whitening agent, or an external preparation composition containing one or more of the above agents, which is safe and has an excellent effect equivalent to or higher than a retinoic acid, while preventing problems relating to safeness such as a side effect of stimulation on a skin or the like caused by continuous use.SOLUTION: The HB-EGF production promoter contains, as an active ingredient, an extract of cats claw (Uncaria tomentosa, Rubiaceae family) bark that has an HB-EGF production promoting effect and an epidermal keratinocyte proliferation promoting effect, and thereby, the HB-EGF production promoter can effectively inhibit or improve pigmentation in a skin such as speckles, freckles, somberness and melanotic skin due to exposure to UV rays. Further, the promoter develops an anti-aging effect or an effect of keeping good skin conditions for preventing somberness or aged skin conditions that are caused by decrease in a proliferation function of keratinocyte due to aging, causing delay in the turn-over of epidermis, and has an effect of maintaining a healthy skin.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】本発明の課題は、連用による皮膚刺激性がある等の副作用の出現など安全性の問題が無く、レチノイン酸と同等以上の優れた効果を有する安全なHB-EGF生成促進剤、表皮のターンオーバー促進剤又はメラニン排出促進剤又は、美白剤及びこれら何れか1つ以上の剤を含有する外用剤組成物を提供することである。【解決の手段】HB-EGF生成促進効果と表皮角化細胞増殖促進効果を有するキャッツクロー(Rubiaceae Uncaria)樹皮の抽出物を有効成分として含有することにより、シミ、ソバカス、くすみ又は紫外線曝露に起因する皮膚黒色化等の皮膚の色素沈着を効果的に抑制及び改善することができ、更には、老化によりケラチノサイトの細胞増殖機能が低下し、表皮部位におけるターンオーバーが遅くなることにより起こるくすみや皮膚老化状態を予防する老化防止効果及び美肌効果を発現し、皮膚を健やかに保つ効果を有する。
