PURPOSE: A coated seed is provided to prevent a damage from birds, to improve the low temperature resistance and the insect resistance, and to prevent the seed from flowing by wind. CONSTITUTION: A coated seed(20) is coated by a coating material(21) including silicic acid and slaked lime as an active ingredient. The weight ratio of the silicic acid, the slaked lime and the seed is 20~40:20~40:40~60. The thickness of the coating is 1~3 times thicker than a skin of the seed. The seed is selected form the group consisting of rice plant, barley, mill, bean, corn. The coating material additional includes more than one component selected from the group consisting of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and sulfur.본 발명은 규산 및 소석고 또는 규산, 철분 및 소석고를 유효성분으로 함유하는 코팅재료로 코팅된 코팅 종자에 관한 것이다.본 발명에 따르면, 규산 및 소석고 또는 규산, 철분 및 소석고로 코팅된 종자를 파종하는 경우 파종된 종자가 물 속 또는 무논, 습한 토양의 표면에 잘 정착되어 발아가 향상되고, 뿌리가 정착할 수 있도록 인위적으로 무게감을 주며, 종자를 감싸주어 새(조류) 피해, 저온 피해 등을 경감시켜 주는 효과가 있다. 또한 규산을 종자에 코팅 처리함으로써 담수, 환원 상태 하에서 뿌리의 산화력을 증진시켜 발아, 활착, 유묘생장을 양호하게 하고, 초형의 직립화로 광합성 증대, 벼 식물체 조직의 표피세포 규질화로 병해충 예방효과, 질소비료 과다사용에 대한 양분흡수 경합으로 단백질 함량 감소를 유도하여 미질 및 식미치 향상효과를 갖는다. 또한 코팅에 사용된 소석고는 종래의 토양 등의 분의 처리 자체만으로 볍씨로 코팅할 경우에 발생하는 물 속에 떨어진 코팅된 볍씨가 쉽게 풀어지는 단점을 보완하여 종자의 정착기능, 새 피해 방지 등의 효과가 크게 떨어지는 문제점을 해결할 수 있다.
