PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antiseptic bactericide which contains a reduced amount of parabens traditionally used for an antiseptic bactericide and yet exhibits a strong antimicrobial power by enhancing the power and a cosmetic composition which includes a reduced amount of parabens and is highly safe.
SOLUTION: The antiseptic bactericide is a combination of at least one kind of the parabens and one kind or more of 1,2-pentanediols and 1,2-octanediols. The cosmetic composition includes the antiseptic bactericide.
