PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus which reduces the time required by startup of an ultrasonic examination and solves the problem with the number of scanning lines limited depending on the capacity of a loaded memory.SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes a hardware control section that carries out operation control of each component related to scanning. The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus further has a control data computing section that divides a region to be scanned into a plurality of blocks each of which includes one or more scanning lines, receives and transmits ultrasonic echoes, and calculates, for each block, control data for carrying out operation control of each component in order to subject the received ultrasonic echoes to signal processing and to form an image.
