The present invention relates to a novel piperazine derivative, to a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or an optical isomer thereof, to a method for preparing same, and to a pharmaceutical composition containing same as an active ingredient for preventing or treating metabolic diseases. The novel piperazine derivative and the pharmaceutically acceptable salt or the isomer thereof, according to the present invention, have excellent in vivo absorptivity and outstanding safety in the human body, since the present invention has a higher water solubility than those of compounds conventionally known as GPR119 activators and has low cytotoxicity.
