PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform observation and treatment using an endoscope.SOLUTION: A device 20 for assisting insertion of the endoscope includes: a rotor 30, a support cylinder 32, and an attachment cylinder 51 to which a leading end 3a of the endoscope 2 is to be attached. Three roller units 35 for circulatably supporting the rotor 30 are attached to the support cylinder 32. The rotor 30 is wound around the support cylinder 32 and circulated in the axial direction of the attachment cylinder 51. An insertion hole 51b, into which the leading end 3a is to be inserted, is formed coaxially with the central axis of the attachment cylinder 51, and the attachment cylinder 51 is disposed in such a manner that its axis is positionally different from the central axis of the support cylinder 32. A positioning rib 51a formed in the attachment cylinder 51 is inserted into a positioning recess 3d for an observation window at the leading end 3a.
