In one embodiment, the motor assembly comprises two wheels (230,235) that are independently driven such that collaborative motions of the two wheels (230,235) enable the chassis (200) to be rotatable as well as linearly movable. The chassis (200) further includes one or more actuators (260a, 260b) connected between the frame (210) and the motor assembly. When the chassis (200) is deployed to be movable, the actuators (260a, 260b) lower the two wheels(230, 235) to touch a flat surface (510) so as to lift up the frame (210) without the legs touching the flat surface (510), causing the chassis (200) to be self-balanced by maneuvering the two wheels (230,235). When the chassis (200) is not deployed for moving, the actuators (260a, 260b) cause the two wheels (230,235) to be positioned above or rest on the flat surface (510) so that the legs hold the chassis (200) to be stationary.
