A urine collection device comprises a collection means (102) to collect urinevoided by a user, first and second outlet means (103, 108) adapted to allow urinecollected by the collection means (102) to drain from the device and a transferpassage (111) adapted to transfer urine collected by the collection means (102)to a receptacle (110). The first outlet means (103) includes a flow rate variationdevice (106) so constructed and arranged that an initial drain flow rate throughthe variation device is greater than a second drain flow rate through the variationdevice； and the second outlet means (108) comprises an overflow outlet means(118) adapted to allow urine collected by the collection means (102) to drainfrom the urine collection device at a third drain flow rate equal to or higher thanthe initial drain flow rate through the variation device.
