PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a novel drug by which DNA can be protected from active oxygen generated within a cell by external stress and the like and intracellular disorders caused by active oxygen thereby can be protected or inhibited.SOLUTION: A novel DNA binding protein Dsup derived from Hypsibius dujardini, a Dsup gene and Dsup gene expression vector that encode the same, and pharmaceutical compositions and cosmetics containing them as active ingredients are provided as inhibitors of DNA damage caused by active oxygen.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
