PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a conservation treatment method for a woody material suppressed in dimensional change.
SOLUTION: The conservation treatment method sequentially has (1) a step which applies a wood conservation medicinal solution on the surface of the woody material and holds the wood conservation medicinal solution on the surface of the woody material, (2) a step which inputs the woody material holding the wood conservation medicinal solution on the surface into a closed container, (3) a step which applies decompression treatment and/or pressurizing treatment to the woody material in the closed container, and (4) a step which returns the woody material applied with the decompression treatment and/or the pressurizing treatment to the atmospheric pressure and largely advances the infiltration of the wood conservation medicinal solution into the woody material. The wood conservation medicinal solution is preferably composed of a wood preservative and an organic solvent for solving the wood preservative. The organic solvent is composed of a petroleum-like substance which slightly contains, for example, vegetable oil and/or toluene, styrene, xylene, paradichlorobenzene, and formaldehyde.
