A scanning endoscope includes: a light-guiding portion configured to guide illumination light for illuminating an object through an optical fiber and emit the guided illumination light from a light emission surface positioned on a distal end side of the optical fiber an actuator portion configured to vibrate in response to a supply of a driving signal for scanning the object in a predetermined scanning pattern, to thereby cause a part of the optical fiber to oscillate, the part of the optical fiber being located in a light emission portion which includes the light emission surface a holding member configured to be able to hold the part of the optical fiber located in the light emission portion and the actuator portion, in a cantilevered manner and a vibration-absorbing member provided at least on a circumference of a portion of the optical fiber adjacent to the holding member, the portion being included in another part of the optical fiber which is located in a light transmission portion which does not include the light emission surface.
