In an embodiment there is provided a surface lure comprising a longitudinallyelongated andconvex curved plate, a longitudinally elongated metal load flattened in avertical plane, a devicefor fixing a fishing line, and a hook. A rod projects from each opposing endof the load,upwardly through the holes in the plate. The holes are arranged on alongitudinal axis of theplate, and ends of the rods extend longitudinally relative to the load. Thedevice is located at aforward, low portion, of the load. Side portions of the plate aresymmetrically bent downwardrelative to its longitudinal axis. While secured to the load, the plate isrotatable about itslongitudinal axis, by an angle, in either direction from a position at whichside edges thereof aresymmetrically arranged with respect to the load. The hook is secured to a rearportion of theload.
