PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pair of pruning shears enabling a user to operate from the ground, and capable of safely and efficiently pruning one-by-one twig of high branches. SOLUTION: This pair of the electric-powered pruning shears 1 has such a mechanism that one handle of the pruning shears 1 is connected to a crank 2 which is connected to a rotary gear 3 to be adjusted in a proper number of revolutions, motion of the pruning shears 1 is cut off from instant rotational motion after cutting twigs by a skip hole 4 as a gap in the inside of the rotary gear 3, and the pruning shears 1 open instantly with a spring 10 which is set behind the supporting point of the pruning shears 1, and begin next motion after slightly opening.
