A system for retrieving a specimen ("S") includes a collapsible bag (200)having a first mating member (240) and a retrieval device (100). The retrieval device has a housing (130) comprising an axle (120) extending from a proximal knob (110) through the housing. The axle comprises second mating member (144). The knob is configured to rotate the axle. The second mating member cooperates with the first mating member for coupling the collapsible bag with the retrieval device. Actuation of the rotation knob collapses an excess portion of the collapsible bag.
