PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon coating method and a balloon rotating method which can properly apply a coating liquid to an external surface of a balloon and can properly set a morphological form or the like of a medicine coated on the balloon.SOLUTION: A balloon coating method of forming a coat layer 32 containing a water-insoluble medicine on an external surface of a balloon 30 of a balloon catheter 10 includes: a step of inserting a core material 207 into a guide wire lumen 91, arranging a base end part of the core material 207 on the base end side from an area where the balloon 30 expands while protruding a tip part of the core material 207 to the tip side from a tip side opening part 93 of the guide wire lumen 91, and holding and fixing a portion of the balloon catheter 10 on the tip side from the area where the ballon 30 expands, with the core material 207 and a step of applying a coating liquid to the external surface of the balloon 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT【課題】バルーンの外表面へコーティング液を適切に塗布することが可能であり、バルーンにコーティングされる薬剤の形態型などを適切に設定可能なバルーンコーティング方法およびバルーン回転方法を提供する。【解決手段】バルーンカテーテル10のバルーン30の外表面に水不溶性薬剤を含むコート層32を形成するバルーンコーティング方法であって、ガイドワイヤルーメン91に芯材207を挿入し、ガイドワイヤルーメン91の先端開口部93よりも先端側に芯材207の先端部を突出させつつバルーン30が拡張する領域よりも基端側に芯材207の基端部を配置して、バルーンカテーテル10のバルーン30が拡張する領域よりも先端側の部位を芯金207とともに挟持して固定する工程と、バルーン30の外表面にコーティング液を塗布する工程と、を有する。【選択図】図9
