The present invention provides a novel vegetable phenol compound (phyto-phenolic compounds) and inflammatory disease preventing or treating a pharmaceutical composition comprising the same as an active ingredient represented by the following general formula Ⅰ. Plant phenolic compounds of the invention stimulates NO production in a cell, more preferably macrophages and up the iNOS gene expression level with the transition active (transactivation) of NF-κB - controls. In addition, plant phenolic compounds of the present invention induces high expression of iNOS, TNF-α or IL (interleukin) -6. Accordingly, the pharmaceutical compositions of the present invention including the above-described plant phenolic compounds as an active ingredient can be applied usefully to treat inflammatory diseases.
