A hair colouring composition comprises an N-PEG amide of a fatty acid and an N-ethoxylated alkyl amine. Also provided are a kit comprising the hair colouring composition and an activator, and an activated hair colouring composition obtainable by mixing the hair colouring composition in a 1:1 ratio by weight with an activator comprising from 2% to 15% by weight hydrogen peroxide.
