The subject invention relates to the new starter probiotic culture that is composed of three thermophilic lactic acid bacteria (LAB) natural isolates: Streptococcus thermophilus LMG P-28585 (BGVLJ1-44), Lactobacillus fermentum LMG P-28583 (BGHI14) and Lactobacillus helveticus LMG P-24226 (BGRA43), in specific ratios. The starter culture of the subject invention exhibits proteolytic and antimicrobial activity, as well as immunomodulatory effect. Moreover, it relates to the use thereof in prevention and/or treatment of intestinal infections in mammals, namely humans and animals, and as an immunomodulator.Predmetni pronalazak se odnosi na novu probiotičku starter kulturu koja se sastoji od tri termofilna prirodna izolata bakterija mlečne kiseline (BMK): Streptococcus thermophilus LMG P-28585 (BGVLJ1-44), Lactobacillusfermentum LMG P-28583 (BGHI14) i Lactobacillus helveticus LMG P-24226 (BGRA43), u specifičnim odnosima. Starter kultura prema predmetnom pronalasku ispoljava proteolitičku i antimikrobnu aktivnost, kao i imunomodulatorno dejstvo. Odnosi se i na njenu upotrebu u prevenciji i/ili tretiranju intestinalnih infekcija kod sisara, odnosno ljudi i životinja i upotrebu kao imunomodulator.
