The invention further relates to a device for treating subcutaneous, lipid-rich cells by cold treatment comprising a heat transfer circuit and an applicator (1) through which a heat transfer medium (6) flows for treating a live body. The device consists of a refrigeration device (30) for providing the heat transfer medium (6) having a specific temperature and connecting supply lines (29) to the applicator as well as a compensator (31) that compensates the weight of the applicator.
