The stent 3 has multiple webs 33 forming a tubular shape with one another and a proximal end 31 and a distal end 32 with a stent lumen 34 extending between the proximal and distal ends. The stent surface 35 is hydrophilic. As a measure of hydrophilicity, the contact angle of the water droplets located on the surface 35 is reduced as compared with the contact angle before the treatment, as the molecular chemical contaminants mainly from the atmosphere, mainly hydrocarbon compounds, are significantly reduced on the surface by the treatment.
