PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article easy to come into close contact with the users body.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article is equipped with an absorbing member, which is equipped with a substrate having a width direction and the longitudinal direction crossing the width direction, and a liquid absorbent member and has the width direction and the longitudinal direction crossing the width direction. The absorbing member is superposed on the liquid permeable surface sheet of the substrate so that the longitudinal direction of the substrate and the longitudinal direction of the absorbing member become the same direction and the liquid permeable surface sheet and a liquid absorbent core are continuously or discontinuously compressed to provide to both side parts in the width direction of the substrate along the longitudinal direction of the substrate as compressed parts. The length in the width direction of the substrate of a pair of the compressed parts provided to both side parts at the part where the minimum part of the absorbing member of the substrate is superposed is more than the length in the width direction of the absorbing member of the minimum part of the absorbing member.
