The device has a front functional part connected to a front handle (100a) of a hedge trimmer. A rear functional part is connected to a main handle (100b) of the hedge clipper. A switch element is triggered by combined actions of the front functional part and the rear functional part. A part of the rear functional part extends along circumferential direction from the main handle and moves along the main handle along axial direction. The switch element is started when the front functional part and the rear functional part move toward each other. An independent claim is also included for a hedge trimmer.
