An audiometer comprising: a database storing a non-transitory digital test signal associated with a desired test sound a digital to analog converter (DAC) that converts the digital test signal to an analog signal headphones that produce a sound responsive to the analog signal a microphone that registers the sound and a controller that adjusts the digital test signal so that the sound produced by the headphones has acceptable fidelity relative to the desired test sound to have the sound be useable in a hearing test.Linvention concerne un audiomètre comprenant : une base de données stockant un signal de test numérique non transitoire associé à un son de test souhaité un convertisseur numérique-analogique (CNA) qui convertit le signal de test numérique en signal analogique un casque découte qui produit un son en réponse au signal analogique un microphone qui enregistre le son et un contrôleur qui règle le signal de test numérique de façon à ce que le son produit par le casque découte ait une fidélité acceptable par rapport au son de test souhaité, pour que le son soit utilisable dans un test auditif.
