PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasound diagnostic apparatus which enables appropriate monitoring of a puncture needle, and an ultrasound probe.SOLUTION: The ultrasound diagnostic apparatus generates image data including a puncture needle, based on needle visibility-preferred image data generated based on reception signals of ultrasound waves output in a needle visibility-preferred mode which disables the transmission/reception of ultrasound waves to/from a transducer region 210b including at least a central portion in a short axis direction but enables the transmission/reception of ultrasound waves to/from transducer regions 210a, 210c.
