PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant cultivating apparatus, which is capable of changing the irradiation direction and irradiation position of a lamp even if the size of the plant placed on a placement part grows and changes in size to allow a waste amount of light applied from the lamp to be eliminated more, and is also able to apply light to the upper and side portions of a taller plant.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there is provided a plant cultivating apparatus 1 provided with a plant cultivation-lighting device 5 that can change a distance from the placement part 3 within a predetermined range. The plant cultivation-lighting apparatus 5 comprises a plurality of cassette-like lighting units 10, 11, 12 arranged in parallel in the front-rear direction. Each of the lighting units 10, 11, 12 includes a lamp 16 and holding bodies 13, 14, 15 for holding the lamp 16.
