An air moving device (100), such as an hair blower or a vacuum cleaner, which includes a housing (2) and a motor (17) within, the housing (2) includes an air inlet end (I) and a central longitudinally extending axis, the motor (17) includes a casing (17a) which has a peripheral surface and an outer end surface, the motor (17) is configured to cause air to flow along the axis, and at least one shock absorber (18) by which the casing (17a) is spaced from the housing (2) is positioned adjacent one end of the casing (17a), the shock absorber (18) is configured to reduce vibrations and/or noises.
