An electrosurgical generator is disclosed. The generator includes a powersupplyoperable to generate a DC voltage and a multi-pole, phase-shifted, pulse-widthand/or frequencymodulated RF output stage coupled to the power supply. The RF output stageincludes aplurality of dual-pole circuits, each of the plurality of dual-pole circuitsincluding first andsecond pairs of switching components. The generator also includes a controllerconfigured todrive the first and second pairs of switching components of each of theplurality of dual-polecircuits at a predetermined phase-shifted frequency.
