Methods and apparatusare provided for affecting an appearanceof skin by harvesting small portions oftissue from a donor (first) site and applyingthem at a recipient (second) site. Aplurality of micrografts can be formedfrom a piece of graft tissue and attachedto a dressing material. The dressing materialcan then be expanded to increase aseparation distance between the micrografts,and the dressing material havingspaced-apart micrografts attached theretocan be applied to a prepared recipientsite. An apparatus can be provided thatexpands the dressing material using apressurized fluid. A further method caninclude providing a suspension of smallportions of graft tissue in a solution. Thesolution can be injected into blistersformed at a recipient (second) site andthe tissue portions allowed to attach andproliferate. A method and apparatus canalso be provided for forming correspondingblisters at a donor site and at arecipient site. The raised (removed) portionsof the blisters can be removed andattached to a dressing material, and the portions from the donor (first) sitecan be placed onto the exposed blister areas at the recipientsite.
