PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of inhibiting the influence on an air flow of a blower fan, particularly reducing pressure loss in an electric discharge/electric field generation device.SOLUTION: An air conditioner including a main body that includes an air intake port and an exhaust port, and a blower fan arranged leeward of the air intake port in the main body and forming an air flow for taking in air from the air intake port into the main body and discharging the air from the exhaust port, comprises: a heat exchanger provided leeward of the air intake port provided in the main body and an electric discharge/electric field formation device provided windward of the heat exchanger on an air path of the air flow formed in the main body, and accommodating a discharge electrode and a counter electrode in a box-shaped frame having a windward opening surface and a leeward opening surface. The heat exchanger is arranged to have a generally inverse V-shaped or generally inverse W-shaped cross-section with an apex part directed toward the blower fan.
