The present invention relates to tadalafil, pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates thereof, for use in the prevention or treatment of dementia and Alzheimers disease in a geriatric patient, wherein tadalafil is administered at a dose of 0.01-9 mg/day. The present invention also relates to the use of tadalafil, pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates thereof, for the manufacture of a medicament for the prevention or treatment of dementia and Alzheimers disease in a geriatric patient, wherein tadalafil is administered at a dose of 0.01-9 mg/day. These uses of tadalafil comprise the administration to a geriatric patient of an amount of 0.01-9 mg/day effective to prevent or combat dementia and Alzheimers disease. The invention also relates to a method of preventing or treating dementia and Alzheimers disease in a geriatric patient, comprising administering to said patient an effective amount of tadalafil, wherein tadalafil is administered at a dose of 0.01-9 mg/day.La présente invention concerne le tadalafil, des solvates et des sels pharmaceutiquement acceptables de celui-ci, utilisés pour la prévention ou le traitement de la démence et de la maladie dAlzheimer chez les patients gériatriques, chez lesquels le tadalafil est administré à raison de 0,01-9 mg/jour.
