PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mosquito-repellent incense suitable for use in an outdoor, of course, in a wide indoor, and exhibiting a high control effect without making a smoke amount excessively large over a required amount.SOLUTION: The present invention discloses the mosquito-repellent incense containing a burning base material, and an effective component of which the vapor pressure is 2×10-1×10mmHg at 30°C, and of which the cross-sectional ares is 40-80 mm, and a method for controlling a pest insect in the outdoor and the wide indoor, using the same. The width of a cross-section is preferably larger by 1.2-1.7 times than the thickness, in the mosquito-repellent incense, and di-t-butyl phenol-based stabilizer is preferably contained together with the effective component.
