Devices, systems, and methods are provided for managing suture filament during a tissue repair procedure. One exemplary embodiment of an anchor insertion tool (10) includes a handle (20), an elongate shaft (30) extending distally from the handle (20), and a ring (50) disposed around the elongate shaft (30). The ring (50) can be configured to slide along a length of the shaft (30), and can be configured to engage a filament (1000) extending from an anchor (40) removably coupled to the shaft's distal end (30d) during a suture anchor insertion procedure. In some embodiments, the ring (50) can include one or more slots (54) for receiving a filament (1000) and maintaining a tension applied to the filament (1000). The ring (50) can also include features that prevent it from rotating with respect to the shaft (30), such as a boss (58) formed on a ring's central opening (52) that engages a slot (32) formed in the shaft (30). Other devices, systems, and methods for suture anchor insertion are also provided.
