602833 Disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition for oral administration comprising a therapeutically effective amount of 5-azacytidine, wherein the composition is a non-enteric-coated immediate-release tablet, which contains a drug core that comprises 5-azacytidine, and further contains a coating of the drug core which is non-enteric, wherein the tablet is obtained by applying the coating to the drug core using solvent comprising water. Also disclosed is the use of 5-azacytidine for the manufacture of a pharmaceutical composition for treating a disease associated with abnormal cell proliferation. Examples of the disease are myelodysplastic syndrome, acute myelogenous leukaemia, non-small-cell lung cancer, ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer and colorectal cancer.
