PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stretcher carrying assistant device which enables suitably carrying a stretcher down a stair by a small number of people.SOLUTION: A stretcher carrying assistant device 1 is installed to a stretcher 100 having a pair of parallel support bars 110 and a sheet 120 stretched between the pair of support bars 110 in order to assist carrying the stretcher on a flat ground or down a stair. There are provided: a support pole 10 detachably attached to one end 110a of the pair of support bars 110 of the stretcher 100 wheels 21 juxtaposedly provided at a bottom end of the support pole 10 and a damper part 30 which reduces speed of descending the stairs by coming into contact with the steps of the stairs when wheels 21 are brought down the stairs.
