A bone anchor (10) for limiting the separation of two bones, for example in a canine knee, comprises a head (11) having a socket 18 for engaging a tool and shaft extending from the head (11) to a tip (14). The shaft comprises a threaded section (13), an intermediate section (12) located between the head (11) and the threaded section (13) and an aperture (15) extending through the intermediate section (12). The head (11) has a larger diameter than the intermediate section (12). Also disclosed is a kit of parts (40, Fig. 16) comprising two bone anchors (10, 20, fig. 16) and a looped suture (30) and a method for limiting the separation of two parts.
