Die Erfindung betrifft das Gebiet von Messverfahren zur Bestimmung des Blutflusses QF in blutführenden Leitungen (40). Sie kann insbesondere zur Bestimmung des Blutflusses in einem Gefäss eines Patienten verwendet werden, das über eine arterielle (14) und eine venöse Leitung (15) mit dem extrakorporalen Kreislauf (2) einer Blutbehandlungsvorrichtung verbunden ist. Gemäss der Erfindung wird die Nettorate dX/dt einer von einer physikalisch-chemischen Eigenschaft Y des Blutes abgeleiteten Grösse X mit Hilfe von während eines Meßintervalls ausreichend zeitlich konstanten Messwerten YA und Yv der physikalisch-chemischen Eigenschaft in der arteriellen (14) und der venösen Leitung (15) bestimmt. Die Nettorate dX/dt wird anschliessend verwendet, um den Blutfluss QF zu bestimmen.
