Disclosed herein is a liquid composition comprising: an oxytocin agonist and/or an oxytocin analogue or salt thereof and an anti-oxidant wherein the pH of the composition is from 5.0 to 6.0, for use in the treatment of uterine atony, for example following vaginal delivery of the infant, delivery of the infant by Caesarean section, or for use in the treatment or prevention of uterine atony in a patient who is at risk of developing PPH and/or for use in the treatment or prevention of excessive bleeding following vaginal delivery. Preferably the oxytocin agonist and/or an oxytocin analogue is 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin (Desmopressin).
