PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel composition having a stable liquid crystal lamellar structure in a highly water-containing system and used for cosmetics, and to provide a cosmetic containing the same.
SOLUTION: Provided is the liquid crystal lamellar type composition for cosmetics, characterized by comprising (A) 2 to 10 pts.wt. of a fatty acid ester obtained from a 14-22C fatty acid, (B) 1 to 8 pts.wt. of a higher alcohol, (C) 1 to 30 pts.wt. of an oil, (D) 10 to 40 pts.wt. of a water-soluble polyhydric alcohol, (E) 0.01 to 1 pt.wt. of an animal or vegetable extract containing a polysaccharide as a main component, and (F) 30 to 70 pts.wt. of water.
