An intramedullary nail according to the invention comprises a driving end portion (10) and a non-driving end portion (20) with a longitudinal axis (21). The non-driving end portion comprises a locking hole arrangement with a sequence of four holes, i.e. from non-driving to driving end a first hole (31), a second hole (32), a third hole (33), and a fourth hole (34). The first hole and the fourth hole have a corresponding first orientation and the second hole and the third hole have a corresponding second orientation.
