This invention relates to the discovery of novel compounds, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, which possess HDAC inhibitory activity. In particular, the compounds of the invention demonstrate selectivity towards Class I HDAC enzymes, and are accordingly expected to be useful for their anti-proliferative activity and in methods of treatment of the human or animal body, for example in preventing or inhibiting tumour growth and metastasis in cancers. The invention also relates to processes for the manufacture of the compounds defined herein, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, to pharmaceutical compositions containing them and to their use in the manufacture of medicaments for use in the production of an anti-proliferative effect in a warm-blooded animal such as man.La présente invention concerne la découverte de nouveaux composés, ou des sels pharmaceutiquement acceptables de ceux-ci, qui possèdent une activité inhibitrice de HDAC. En particulier, les composés de linvention présentent une sélectivité vis-à-vis des enzymes HDAC de classe I, et sont en conséquence susceptibles dêtre utilisés pour leur activité antiproliférative et dans des méthodes de traitement du corps humain ou animal, par exemple dans la prévention ou linhibition de la croissance tumorale et de la métastase dans des cancers. Linvention concerne des procédés pour la fabrication des composés présentement définis, ou des sels pharmaceutiquement acceptables de ceux-ci, des compositions pharmaceutiques contenant ceux-ci et leur utilisation dans la fabrication de médicaments à utiliser dans la production dun effet antiprolifératif chez un animal à sang chaud tel quun humain.
