PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a microbial material effective for root vegetables and to provide a technique for stably obtaining good field crops even in an upland field where injury by continuous cropping is found, suppressing the occurrence of the injury by continuous cropping and achieving the transfer to environmental preservation type agriculture when the microbial material is applied to the actual upland field.SOLUTION: The method for controlling the injury by continuous cropping is characterized as follows. The soil analysis of the upland field is carried out before planting of the root vegetables to measure the density of Streptomyces scabies in the upland field according to the amount of nec-1 gene.
