PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a light absorption body inside a sample with high sensitivity and high resolution, and further, in a short period of time.
SOLUTION: In a method of detecting an optoacoustic signal, a laser beam is made incident on the inside of a sample from one incidence point, acoustic signals generated inside the sample are detected at detection positions on a plurality of concentric circles centering on the incidence point, which are at least three positions on the circumference on each of the concentric circles, and at least the position of the light absorption body inside the sample is specified on the basis of the detected acoustic signals.
