PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid application device evenly applying a liquid to the whole area of a part to be coated when the liquid such as an adhesive is applied to an object to be coated in a prescribed application pattern.
SOLUTION: The liquid application device has a discharge roller 3 for discharging the liquid fed from a feeding means 2 in a prescribed pattern. The liquid application device is for applying the liquid discharged from the discharge roller 3 to a moving object S to be coated. The discharge roller 3 comprises a surface plate 31 forming the outer surface part and a roller body 32 constituting the inner part of the discharge roller 3 from the surface plate 31. A recess 33 in a prescribed shape is formed on the outer surface part of the roller body 32 to diffuse the liquid introduced through the inside of the roller body in the direction along the surface plate 31. The whole area of the portion of the surface plate 31 covering the recess 33 is made of a porous body, so that the liquid is discharged from the whole area of the portion of the surface plate 31 covering the recess 33.
